Strike the Match: Today, We Celebrate 📙❤️🔥
Hello world! Burn the Haystack is here!
“Autumn’s Dance,” by Lucy Almey Bird
I keep trying to write a “normal” book release day post, but nothing about this feels normal.
Because this has never just been a book release. It’s been a celebration of this deeply supportive and sincere community that shows up each day, comparing notes, rebuilding self-trust, and choosing to stop tolerating BS.
Last night’s live virtual event is going to stay with me for a long time. It was a webinar format because of the size, so there wasn’t back-and-forth dialogue, but the chat was active, and it was characterized by the kindness, community support, razor-sharp wit, and rhetorical sophistication that has always characterized the Burned Haystack community. It was really hard for me to remain in “official presentation” mode because I wanted to just join the chat! Thank you so much to those of you who were there. 🫶 I woke up super early today and just watched New York slowly get light because I was too excited to sleep, but more than anything, I am extraordinarily grateful to everyone who’s been part of this.
This community helped me turn a personal experiment into a worldwide dating method. And now it’s a book you can actually use. You’ll:
1. Decode what men are actually saying with the help of analytical tools, and understand what word choices, patterns, and rhetorical strategies reveal about intentions and character.
2. Trust yourself again and stop second-guessing your instincts. If something feels off, it probably is, and now you will know exactly why.
3. Develop a new vocabulary for what you are seeing. You name the dynamic in front of you and stop blaming yourself for “overthinking” or being “too picky.”
4. Protect your peace. You build the confidence to set firm boundaries, walk away faster, and stop apologizing for having standards.
If you’re holding the book today, I hope you feel how much love is in it.
And if you’ve been part of this community, please hear me: you helped make this real.
Today, we celebrate.

Congratulations Jennie! I bought two books as pre-orders (will happily give the extra to someone who wants it, in Oakville, Ontario). I also asked my library to get it in and suggested they'd need a few copies.
I'm really hoping that the sales of this book will reflect what a movement this is.
The webinar was so fun!
I hope you can make it to Toronto sometime too!
Jennie you have sparked a revolution and we thank you for your leadership, hard work, and perseverance. It’s genuinely such a big day and this Haystacker is here for it and for you! You will be getting a lot of external feedback. Remember to stay grounded and nurture yourself too. You are a badass goddess and a GD delight!
